Maria Bucur is Associate Dean in the College of Arts and Sciences and John V. Hill Professor in East European History at Indiana University, where she has taught an undergraduate course on "The Idea of Europe" and other topics in nineteenth- and twentieth-century eastern Europe. Her research focus is on social and cultural developments in eastern Europe, with a special interest in Romania (geographically) and gender (thematically).
